(CEA) Controlled Environment Agriculture – Hydroponics
Veterans to Farmers is excited to announce the return of our Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) course! This class is designed to offer veterans the unique opportunity to experience and learn about the techniques used to grow food in greenhouses or indoors utilizing hydroponic growing methods.
We are very excited to announce that we have partnered with Altius Farms in Denver Colorado to bring this enriching opportunity to our veteran students. Founded in 2017 and run by a fellow veteran, we believe Sally and her crew are the perfect fit for our future farmers.
Market Farming – Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farm
The partnership between Veterans to Farmers and Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farm is focused on connecting veterans to a farming career via a 20 week, 300-hour training program.
The program focuses specifically on small-scale organic vegetable production in a way that engages the mind, body, and soul through a holistic approach to sustainable living.
Urban Farming Series
Our Urban Farming Series was designed in response to those veterans who couldn’t attend an 10 week or 21-week course. If you are new to farming/gardening and just want to learn where to start and how to grow delicious food for you and your family, these classes are made for you.
**All veterans and their family members are invited to attend if the subject is of interest to them (age-appropriate)
