Taylor Drew - Board Member

Taylor Drew, an Arvada native, joined the Navy after high school as an aviation electronics technician. His experience in the military honed his aptitude for detail-oriented tasks, while also igniting a love of food through travel. This love for all thing’s food became a driving force and after separation from the Navy in 2004, Taylor set off to do something with his newfound passion.

In 2014, Chef Taylor Drew and a good friend opened the doors to LoHi SteakBar in Denver, Colorado. Taylor knew from the start he wanted to serve his patrons locally sourced produce for the best culinary experience. But even more, he wanted to grow that local produce, he wanted to bring it directly from the farm to the plate. Working towards this new goal, Taylor attended a Veterans to Farmers course in 2017. This experience allowed Taylor to cultivate the skills and resources needed to farm. Even more it reconnected him with a veteran community, something he missed after service.
After finishing the course, Taylor decided to turn his dream into a reality and began looking for land. In 2018, Farmer Taylor co-founded Forever West Farms in Brighton, Colorado. Forever West is a 10-acre market farm that grows 25 varieties of heirloom vegetables, 25 different heritage grains, and high quality, sustainably raised meats. The produce grown is used in many dishes served at LoHi SteakBar and is picked fresh for use in farm-to-table dinners that Taylor prepares. Much of the produce is also for purchase in the market at LoHi Local and the Arvada Farmers Market.

In 2019 Taylor also joined the VTF board to give back to his veteran community. He may be the hardest working guy we know.
